Question Brute 650 100hr belt light

Will the machine be put into a "limp" mode at the 100 hr mark when the belt check light comes on?

Yes! I ride with the 750's and this happens all the time. Very annoying!!!!! If you do your research there are directions on how to shut it of even while out on the trail.

Yea I have a service manual and it leads you to think that it will go to "limp" but it does not come right out and say it. I'm going to copy the procedure and place it in a ziplock bag under the seat. I'm currently at 54hrs. Thanks for the info.

Good thinking! I would even go on some of the Kawi forums as they can give you some good advice. I believe there are forums just for the Brut's themselves.

Default Belt light

My Prairie 360 just hit 100 hours and the light came on and it still rides fine. I spoke to the repair shop and he told me that it won't actually go into "limp mode" until the system actually detects a problem. When this does happen you can still "make it out" of most conditions.

The 360 is a little different than the Brute 750's these engines have more power and the ones with EFI will cut power to save an a worn belt. Kawis are not known for having the best belt systems thus the 100hr checkup!
