Gotta hand it to Kawasaki
First off, I want to make sure it is known that I am a loyal Honda 4 wheeler guy. They have never let me down...
...but I have to hand it to Kawasaki.
I went on vacation with my now fiancee to her Dad's cattle farm in western Nebraska. It was a blast. We shot guns and rode 4 wheelers all day. I never rode a wheeler so hard and beat the hell out of one so much as I did those 4 days. She was riding a 2004 Prarie 400 4x4 and i was on her Dad's well-used 1996 Bayou 300 4x4. We regularly hammered the gas wide open, and I had to top out all 5 gears just to attempt to try to keep up with the Prarie (even though i couldn't). We rode all over the cow pastures, which are very bumpy from cowpies and clumps of little plants, grass, and shrubs. Plus, there were alot of hills and mini cliffs (very steep). The fiancee was scared to go off-road. She loves to whip cookies and drive fast....on gravel. I like that, but LOVE going off road, where there are no trails. so I took that bayou and put it through its paces. We even found mini hills (terraces) to jump. I bottomed out the suspension too many times to count. I was even horsing around on some ice and plowed right into a hay bale at a decent speed.
That was on top of how her Dad uses the machine. He typically herds the cattle with it, ramming them if need be (his previous bayou has every single piece of plastic broken off of it from such acts).
I have to give 2 huge thumbs up to Kawasaki, especially the old Bayou 300 4x4, as that is tank of a machine.
