Default spark plug, Carb issue

Ok so i have a 1996 Bayou KLF300 4x4. I keep fouling my spark plug. It is the correct type per the Clymer repair manual i have rebuilt the Carb and have set the needle per the Clymer Manual. But no matter what adjustments i make on the needle it still fouls. It has a dark black sout on it. It takes approximatly 2 days for it to get like this when it runs it runs fine and there is no power lose but when i go to start it after it sits it doesnt like to start unless i pull the plug and clean it or put in a new plug. Any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like your choke is stuck at ON position at the carb and fouling the plug (even when choke is at OFF position). The choke on your Bayou is actually a fuel enrichening device not a butterfly valve that restrtricts the airflow. Clean out the choke plunger and make sure it really shuts off at the carb when the choke is at OFF position.

If you are adjusting the needle only, that is JUST for idle fuel/air. It has nothing to do with fuel/ air mix when riding around.

It sounds like you need a main jet change to me.

How clean is the airfilter?

Have you lowered the clip on the main needle in the carb? Lowering the clip will raise the needle position which will lean it outsome , if its all the way up then you need a smaller main jet.

Don't change the original factory setting if the problem was not present from the beginning. Try to fix what went wrong.
