Default Bayou 220 Problem

I just aquired a Bayou 220 that has been sitting for a while, it seems to be stuck in neutral, when I push down or pull up on the shift lever nothing happens, I adjusted the clutch but that didn't help, any ideas on what could be going on here?

Ok guys I was told that something is messed up in the transmission and that I needed to do a complete tear down which is what I was afraid of. So is there anything I should know before I attempt this? like special tools or any tips or tricks? also if anyone has a guide or a diagram that would be great. Thanks in advance

One of the causes could be the broken shift shaft spring P/N 921441235.

do I just have to take off the side case or do I actually have to split the crank case all together?

Clymer, Hayden, Chilton are for shade mechanics and their print/photo resolution quality isn't that good at all. Get a real factory service manual if you want to get the job done right like pros.

I agree with Hayashi...the other manuals are a waste of time and money...the factory service manuals are what the pros use because it walks them through everything, gives them correct torque specs, special tool info, etc.
