I am thinking of buying a 2000 prarie 300 4x2 for 1500 dollars. Is that a good deal and can you buy 4x4 kits for it. Also Does anybody know where i can get a cheap used atv in ny. Thanks

 

I paid 1500 for my 2001 Prairie 300 4X2 in 2006, so I think you can work the seller a bit for a better deal. It is a pretty darn good little ride. I'm not sure about a 4WD kit, but mine goes thru stuff it shouldn't be able to all the time, even with mostly wore out KT-125's on it. The low range is nice too, but I hate the shifter design. The only weakness on the machine is a relatively low CVT intake, and no CVT drain. I installed a bulkhead fitting with a screwed cap so I could drain the CVT, and try to mind the deep water.
