Default Varying Fi 750 Brute top speeds

Hey fellas, I've read twice now in Atv connection magazine vs the thunder cat they said it topped out at 79 mph. In a previous test of the 08 Fi they said it topped out "well over 70". In the monsters of momentum shoot out they said it did 68.5 mph. In another previous test against the other 700 class machines they once again said it pulled well past 70mph. Well my FI is still very new and it pulled to 71mph and felt like it had more but now its stopping at 70 and bouncing off 71. Im getting frustrated lol. I have a friend who had an 08 and he said after it was well broken in his would do 76, geez thats hard to accept seeing what mine does. Atv Action is all over the place saying top speeds. What has everyone else experienced? I was hoping for more than 71. The FI is brutally quick and pulls to 70 so easy it feels like it should do 75-76. Kinda sucks I hit 73mph on a buds 650 outlander. Please let me know what some of yall are seeing for topend, Lots of variances being thrown around, Im currently sitting at 71mph. Thanks in advance.

Most people I know that have a 750 brutes say around 69 to 71.( Then I know people that have 650 brutes sra that say the same 69.I dont believe them I have an 08 brute 650 sra that goes 61 with 26 inch tires on it ). As for the 650 outlander those things rip but theres a price you pay for that awesome power, the frames have probs. I have seen it .70 is plenty fast on a quad , hey you are going as fast as sport quads.speed is not everything, Good luck.

i'm also very disappointed with my 2009 750 brute. i maxed out at 71 while i recall hitting 72 much easier on a 2006 brute. i'd like to clear 80 cause 70 feels slow, and i wish i could hit it a few seconds faster. i'm lookin into sport atv's now but nothing seems riight for what i want. i ride rocky steep trials where a 46 inch width barly fits between tree's, there's sharp rocks that point up almost a foot high, and open roads where you can fly down.

I have a 06 750 and have never got it above 69 with maxxis mst tires and aluminum wheels. my buddy has a 07 and can get it to 70. thats on an old railroad bed in maine holding it at full throttle for 3 or 4 miles.

Glad to know im about right then. I really thought my buddy was off when he said 76 after it was broke in. For fun this evening some friends were over and we got out on the road and drag raced my FI 750 against his Toyota Tundra, 1/4 mile is sprayed off out there, It was fun out the hole i took a big lead barely squeezing out past the finish line as they flew by me lol. But as he passd me and drafted the air, I found the problem quickly, I hit the rev limiter immediately and it was constantly cutting the engine down, not allowing it to hit 72mph. I figured Atv Action was making a goofy mistake saying "pulled to 79mph", and "pulls well past 70". Guess 71 is well past it lol. It definitely has more topend left cured with a diff cdi i guess, but im not up on whats compat with the FI system. The Brutes strong point is its bottom end torque, its a freaking beast out of the hole, i had my 650i for 4.5 years, it was faster than the carbed 750s, but not the FI by no means. It was absolutely pulling teeth but i hit 70mph on my 06 650i. Its kind of dissapointing that a 116cc upgrade got me 1mph. Who has modded their 750 FI's?
