Default Bayou 300 Ignition Solution..New Battery?

My 2001 Bayou 300 (KLF300-B14) had a weak battery. Ignition spark was weak when trying to electric start and quad was difficult to fire up. Even jump starting failed to help, but a new battery appears to have been the solution. This seems to simple to be true.

Question: If the battery on a Bayou is weak, could jump start power be directed toward the weak battery instead of the coil, resulting in a weak spark at the plug?

Thanks for any experience or advice.

Jim

How do you know spark is weak? Most of the time if you can see spark if has enough to start... that about 25,000 volts...If you see spark than check your spark plug and compression....Both can make hard to start problems.

Those Bayous are notorious for corroding the plug wires on the coil end.. May want to check that.
