My gf has a bayou 220 and inside the centrifugal clutch a spring has pretty much shattered and I'm having trouble finding some to replace it. From what I've found out they dont have a part number and are just a part of the "Hub-assy, clutch" which the entire thing its self is around $170 and thats a bit much for just wanting a spring off of it. Any ideas on what to do?
Heres a link on what I've found.
Alba Action | Arctic Cat OEM Parts | Can-Am (Bombardier) OEM Parts | Honda OEM Parts | Honda Power Equipment OEM Parts | Kawasaki OEM Parts | KTM OEM Parts | Polaris OEM Parts | Sea-Doo OEM Parts | Suzuki OEM Parts | Yamaha OEM Parts
Just gotta select "Kawasaki" for the brand then "ATV" then the next option is the one that matches a 2001 Bayou 220 then finally its under the "clutch" diagram part number 41033. It shows the picture of it and if you zoom in on it you can see the 3 springs that go around it which is what I need.

This seems to be a common problem with these machines, as I am working on the same thing, on the exact same machine, right now. This machine is not mine, so I asked the owner what he wanted me to do. He told me to go ahead and buy the clutch assembly. Just a heads up, though - on the one I am working on, most of the shoe pivot bushings were shattered as well, so even if I could get the springs, I would still have needed the bushings.
I repaired an Eton kids 70cc quad with the same problem by finding a stout spring at a Hardware store and modifying it to fit. It worked well, and has been in operation for over a year now.
