No Low Gear 2005 Brute Force

Default No Low Gear 2005 Brute Force

While riding yesterday my buddies quad got bogged down in some deep snow he switched to low geasrhit the gas and bang big noice and no low gear!!! Any ides on what went?? How much trouble is it to get inside trans and see?? Any possible easy fixes?? Thanks guys for any help!!!!

That BIG BANG noise is the sound of LOW GEAR getting shattered like shown below.

Also the spacer washer that keeps in the gears engaged might be broken as well.

When you shift gear, you must keep the RPM down to reduce the impact on gears. Of course, anything can be fixed. Just split the case, replace what's broken, clean up ALL the debris and put them back together. Just don't make the same mistake again unless splitting the crankcase is your hobby like me.
