2000 Bayou question
#1
Hey everyone,
A few questions please.
Is it correct that this quad has positive camber as it comes from the factory?
Are there any cost effective ways to correct it?
Does it need to be corrected? It seems these things run forever and I can't find alot of info on this being an issue, it just bugs me.
Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, it has a factory set UN-ADJUSTABLE camber angle to it. I would call it a negative since the wheel bottom is pointing inward (but that's not the point). The factory set camber angle gives better steering control - they say. I know it looks strange/wrong but that's how it's been like that since first Bayou came out in 1987 Bayou 220 with the same frame/suspension.

Yes, I liked it too when I had it. Very fun, snappy and reliable.
Just make sure your son does not use high gears for low speed riding. Those semi-auto cltuch/trans gets really hot and they can be damaged if you would be lugging at low speeds in high gears.

I too have a 2001 220 bayou I bought for my 9 and 12 year old. When my Honda 250x broke down, I rode the 220, and love this quad. This quad was also taken out on a ride with the 4x4 quads a bunch of us have, and the 220 went through everything the big quads did - just a rougher ride. Does anyone have suggestions for larger rims/tires for the 220 - good or bad to install larger rims/tires?

Good: Better traction/softer ride/better look, etc.
Bad: Lugging the engine, slower acceleration, engine/trans/clutch getting too hot & possible damage - depending how big you get.
If factory size has not disappointed you, keep the same.
