My bike is the mono shock, and from the vin numbers its an 81kdx not a converted Kd from the 70`s. thanks once again guys for the help. Once I have time to start polishing it up and fixing the issues I`ll post pics. I have had the bike not for almost 2 weeks and haven`t even had a chance to look at it, looks like the only time I`ll have is when I`m back from vacation (the last part of july ) and I hope to have the bugs worked out for our Canadian "Labor day long weekend) September 1st weekend.

Yes, your bike is a KDX.
Who would go through such a hassle of converting from KD to KDX when everything on the bike is different, engine, frame, trans, suspension, etc?

Here is another way to tell:
KDX frame number starts with 000101xxx.
KD frame number starts with 008501xxx.

What I was pertaining too was the first weekend in September hence the Labour day long weekend. When I said the Sept 1st long weekend everyone here knows its the last long weekend of the summer.

The Part of Canada I was brought up in everyone calls it the September 1st long weekend, most of the old folks (don`t get me wrong I`m 46 hehe) commonly call it Labour day weekend.

Got a few members here I'd call good friends from Canada. Always good for some across the border ribbing. From both sides.
