Unhappy Another bayou spark issue! ANY HELP???

Its a 1994 bayou 300 4x4 bought it yesterday for $400!!! Ran fine last week. Has no spark and he says it would not charge the battery either. The battery thing has been a problem for a while, but now it will not spark! He put the new cdi on it but didn't help it any ideas what to check next? Maybe the stator and pickup coil? Anyone know how i can test before thowing a part at it?

Are you following the instruction in the factory service manual when checking the stuff, like things for stator, pulser coil, etc?
If not, you should since it will save you $$ in a long run.

UPDATE!!! The problem was found using the midwestmanual.com!! no ground to the cdi... Anyways now the ATV will run a min and shut off, Found out it is shearing the woodruff key off. Probably cause I pulled the flywheel its not hard at all to get back on there jus slides right back up and shears off another!!! whats wrong here? did i warp the flywheel?
