Default 05 Brute Force

Hi Guys, first post here! I'm new to ATV's and have been looking for a decent used one for a while. I just found an 05 Brute Force 750 with 2,000 miles for sale locally. I have no clue what to look for! If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it! This will be used for trail riding, do I need something that bid or should I look for something smaller?

Thats a lot of horse power for someone new to ATVs, if you haven't ridden much before, that twin cylinder might scare you a bit before you get used to it. The ATV should fit you, that is, feet flat on the floor boards/ footpegs, arms not reaching to hold handlebars (for long ride comfort and easier control, but you can get bar risers/aftermarket bars to make that better). The ATV should also fit your skill level, you wouldnt want to start out on an 80 hp Can Am when a 20 hp Recon would do fine, Also, do you want 4wd or 2wd, that is, do you want to do a lot of mud riding, rock climbing, or rugged terrain riding where 4wd might be needed, or are you going to be a casual trail rider, where 2wd and a good set of tires will do you fine. So many choices !! best thing is to look at several different ones and see what feels right, and what will work for your intended use.

the bf 750 is a very fast atv from the go-

personally- I'd chose any other atv over the 05 & 06 750's for personal reasons.

I don't want to turn this thread into a bashing thread so if you're interested in my personal opinion on the bf 750's- I'll pm you

aside from that- make sure you consider other options and other makes & models- like wolvy said, what you intend to do with your atv and skill level makes all the difference in what you should consider buying.

Thanks 95 wolv. I used to have motorcycles, street and dirt, so I'm not completely new to riding. I'm just worried that if I buy something small I will be disappointed with it. How does the horsepower on an atv compare to a dirt bike? My suzuki 125 was plenty of power.

going from a bike to an atv is basically starting over- totally different in every aspect. manipulating an atv is nothing like riding a bike.

it would be great to get some seat time on the 750 before you decide- even just going to look at it and trying it out. leave your money at home so you're not tempted to buy on impulse
