I have stripped the rear hub splines before I dont know if it is the same for the front. The threads for the nut were messed up. The nut wouldn't stay tight and the splines in the hub stripped. The dealer said Kawi makes the hub splines out of softer material than the axle splines because a hub it cheaper than an axle is.

A locker will stress the driveline more than a differential. Larger, more aggressive tires than stock stress the driveline, too. Lots depends upon the roughness of the service you put your quad through.
Stripping splines on a driveshaft/universal joint is a pretty severe and drastic happening; I doubt a locker would be a significant contributing factor. Consider: What if, both front tires, pointed straight, have equal traction (with a differential)? How could a locker stress the driveline further?
The additional stress contributed by a locker would occur mostly on turns, under power; the CV joints are probably at greater risk than the hub splines. Keep this fact in mind; and, if you decide you need a locker, I'd recommend you go for it.
