Default high idle in neutral

Hey all. I noticed the last time i rode my brute the engine would go to some sort of high idle in neutral. No lights are flashing and its running great. Its also hard to find neutral after riding for a while. I have to move the four wheeler back and forth to get it to go in. Any thoughts?

If the choke is turned off and still high idle engine speed, that could be possibly due to corrosion at the choke plungers at the carbs.

On BF750, it's not really a "choke" like the word says. But it is rather a fuel enrichening system that allows more fuel allow when you push the "choke" **** to ON position.

Corrosion at the choke plunger is a common problem on carbed machines like on 05-07 BF750. Choke plunger is made of brass and the choke bore is made of aluminum And today's crappy fuel has so much alcohol and it accelerates the corrosion between two different metals.

The corrosion will cause the plunger to stick open and continue to allow extra fuel flow even when you turn off the choke **** at the handlebar. The extra fuel flow would increase the idle speed.

High idle speed can also affect the shifting quality of your qauad, difficult to shift and you have to rock the quad to engage or disengage gears. Fix the high idle rpm problem first. If the shift problem continues to remain, then adjust the shift linkage tie-rod (that connects the shift rod to the trans) for smoother shifting.
