Its time to school everyone on the 300EX/Mojave. Back when the Mojave first came out the media loved it. It would always be rated the best machine for racing in the shootouts against the 250X. Now for the validity of the shootouts consider this. The first year the Blaster came out it won the sport shootout against the Mojave and 250X. Then in '89 when there was no 250X, the media said the Mojave would have won because the shocks had been revalved. My point? The magazines are full of it and their shootouts are pretty meaningless. A person just needs to buy the machine that is best for him and not listen to the hype. Easier said than done.

The bottom line is buy the bike YOU like, not the one someone tells you to like!!!

I dont know what ATV sport magazine was smoking at the time they did that test and i wont knock the mojave because a know a few guys with them and it's a great little quad but the top speed of a stock 300ex is more than 45mph.
My friend was clocked on a dragstrip (they have a zone at the end of the track which measures your speed) and he ran 54mph totally stock.

You can tell by my name what i bought. I rode both before i bought a quad and liked the 300ex better. Its slightly bigger than the mojave and has better suspension.

As for the guys who said the mojave wheelies great, well so does the 300ex and if you ask anyone who races they will tell you that you dont want the quad to be able to wheelie so easily anyway.

I also picked the 300ex because of the electric start. The kickstart is easy and very reliable (no dead batteries) but it sucks when you flood the engine. Yea it happens once in a blue moon but it does happen. Besides that i like to be able to just sit there and start her up by just pushing a button...LOL

It's funny how people ask questions like this. They tend to ask the same question in both forums to see what everyone thinks and they tend to get the same answer. The honda board says to get the honda, and the same goes for the kawi board.

As i say to everyone else who asks this same question... The only way to really know which one you want is by riding both of them first. THEN decide what you want.

Before the childish flaming starts i want to say that i didnt mean to offend anyone, and im just putting my $0.02 in to help the guy out who asked the question.

Personally i don't see why anyone would pay $800 more for electric start, The mojave has a better designed motor and more hop up potential and you can run it all day long in the heat with out the motor fadeing, which i find to be a problem with my ex. I've never ridden a mojave but i have sat on them, they seem to be very comfortable. I'm not sure how they handle or how good the suspention is but im sure that you'd be happy with it.
