Default KFX400 Choke Cable Removal?

Sup guys,
I have a 2006 KFX400 and the motor blew so I'm parting the bike out. I have someone interested in buying my carb and I got the whole thing off the bike except I cannot figure out how to remove this choke cable from the carb itself. I unscrewed the plastic bolt that is there but it is spring loaded and just spins back. I don't want to ruin the cable.. Is there a trick to this? I moved the boots covering the metal cable guide that allows it to free spin when I unscrew that bolt and I was able to get it to separate without damaging the cable. But now I can't get the part inside out.. Do I take a small screw driver and unscrew it to get the cable out?

If the brass plunger is frozen/corroded in the carb you might try some penetration oil such as PB Blaster and let it sit awhile. Plus on most carbs you can pull the top cap and diaphragm and can see the plunger end and if careful you can use a small pick to help pry it out. Haha yeah. As soon as I posted this I realized that that piece was supposed to come out and that the spring acts as a tensioner. Rookie mistake on my behalf. Thanks for the input!
