Question Help!

Just got my first quad, 1997 Kawasaki Bayou 220, new carb and plug and fuel filter, it will start and idle for a hour if you let it but when I try and give it gas to go down the road it bucks and sputters and won't even hardly pull itself, I've been told that it is the electronic brain, a little aluminum box about 3-4" long, they say it will not let it advance the timing, anybody else had this problem? Sure need some help, really want to ride it as I've never had one.

It is far more likely to be the carb. In my opinion you are far better cleaning the old carb out than fitting a new one, as unless already set up for your model, the new carb won't be jetted or set right for it. Doing this takes more skill and time than simply cleaning the old one out.

This a new carb that has been jetted and adjusted for this altitude.
