Am I the only one who replaces these?

Am I the only one who replaces these?
Coming down off the mountain the other day I passed this center cap next to a rock.
I laughed as I took the pic thinking its nice to see one else lose one of these things.
When I got home I realized that it was MINE!!
That's the second one I've lost.
I bought the replacements from the dealer I bought the machine from.
The first time the guy told me they'd never sold one before. This time he told me they've only ever sold one.
$24.45!! Ouch LOL!!

It looks like there are little friction tabs that stick out along the mating surface. Is there also a corresponding notch on the wheels? Maybe the tabs could be bent more so that they get a good grip?
Also, it looks like Kawasaki offered black wheels and caps or silver wheels and chrome caps. Black caps on silver wheels might look nice.
My '05 Prairie had the stock silver hubs that never looked right with the charcoal wheels and black center cap. Since the hubs were starting to rust anyway, I cleaned them up and painted them black. I think it looks much better now and when I see pictures of other Prairies, my eyes are drawn right to the usually rusty silver hubs.
Prairie caps on your BF would look ridiculous, but in a pinch, they would work. For about a dollar you could keep one in your toolbox. If you are ever out in the think of things and notice another one of the $25 jobs have gone wandering, you could at least pop one on and keep things clean until you visit the dealer again.
* Note - I tend to plan for every scenario that will probably never happen and therefore take far too many spares and tools with me.

Yep, I am with you, hate the looks without them. I have replace many of them over the years. I usually keep a couple around for when I loose one.
Ye I have used "goop" to glue them in place, it stays soft, use sparingly and it will keep them on. I thought mine were expensive at 12 ea, your are really expensive!

I went in to pick it up today, they have to order them and it was black.
Glad I'll be in town again next week.
