2-Stroke Motor in a Mojave Frame
#1
I'm thinking of getting rid of the 12 year old mojave engine that is currently installed on my quad and replacing it with a 2-Stroke engine, preferably from a newer 250cc motorcross bike. Has anyone ever done so and with what modifications? Which engine would you suggest and which would most likely be the best fit? Any helpful hints and advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

try the two stroke power-valved kx250 motor. it is off of there motocross bike. It has somewhere around 40 to 45 HP. you may want to buy an extended swingarm unless you want to ride around on two wheels all day long. Hope this helps.

People used to do this conversion back in the '80s. Jackie Meadows had one that was based off a Mojave frame and either a KX 250 engine or one out of the Tecate 3-wheeler. It was called the Mocat. The longer, aftermarket aluminum swingarm and other parts were from Cal-Fab. The Kawasaki team raced the machine until the Tecate 4 came out.

I was thinking of doing this because i just took my engine to the shop and he said it would cost 650 beans to fix the damn thing. So what i want to know is what kind of price i would be looking at and if it would need frame modifications. Also i wanted to know if the radiator would fit on to a 2 stroke?
