Default choke plunger stuck?

pulling the carb on a 1999 bayou 220. I have everything disconnected except the choke cable. I can't get it out of the carb. I took off the plastic nut off and the cable still won't come out. I did pull on it with some force but really don't want to break anything. Is there anything else that needs to be disconnected?

I rarely work on Kawasakis, but the choke plunger getting stuck on carburettors is common. Sadly, to remove it usually ends in destruction of the plunger. Firstly, pull hard, and the cable pulls out of the plunger. You then go in with narrow nosed pliers and tug at the brass bit, this breaks off. Only way then is to drill a small hole into the centre of the brass plunger, 1/4" down should do it, and insert a self tapping screw. Pull on that, and the plunger usually comes out. I have sometimes had to warm the carb body, but naked flames and petrol are not a good combination, and there are some plastic and rubber components that don't like heat, so that is a last resort.
