1999 Kawasaki prairie 300 automatic 2x4 question

Hello I have just traded for this quad and it boggs after half throttle and the battery is no good can that cause this issue .

Possibly....weak battery could be weak spark if stator is not producing 100%. Time to start checking everything out before getting stranded on the trails.
