You would need a wiring diagram and to know which pin does what on the Chinese CDI. The Mojave one is six pin, but I'm unsure if it is AC or DC, KLF 250s were AC but KLF 300s DC so could be either, the wiring diagram will show you. The Chinese one won't have the right advance curve, so performance may suffer. Above all, ensure the right wire goes to the right pin.

Default Mojave cdi

I have the wiring diagram for the new Chinese cdi which is also a six pin cdi. I also have the wiring diagram for the old cdi. So your saying as long as I match up the wires correctly it will work?

Yes, there can be differences in the voltage produced by the trigger coil and exciter coil so nothing is certain, but as long as you have the correct wires going to the pins the Chinese CDI says they should go to, it should work. As I stated earlier, advance curves (and the rev limit) will be different so the bike may not have the same performance.
