Default 650 prairie carb rebuild

How much trouble is it to rebuild the carbs on a 02 650 4x4 atv by novice mechanic?
How difficult are they to remove. Service manual says to drain coolant. Why?

I don't know the Prairie at all, but from old posts on here, setting the carbs on the V twin has proved impossible for a lot of ATV repair shops. I would be very wary of doing anything other than a clean, and I mend Quads for a living.

The rebuild is like any other carb, needs a clean work area and you need ro go slow and be precise and also use a good kit so you have all the proper settings. The trick is getting rhem matched to run together properly. I have done outboard motors with multiple carbs and special tools and vacuum gages are needed to syncronize the carbs or it wont run right.

Thanks guys. I'm going to attempt to just clean the carbs . Looks like air filter element disengaged and got sucked into the carbs..😯
