Question Brute Force 650 Wont Start

07 kawasaki brute force I purchased non running and was told it ran fine last summer when it was parked....so I cleaned the carbs and try to start it up and not any luck. After cranking a few times and giving a little throttle it will pop and blow some gas out the top of the carbs. I'm not used to working on these but I read somewhere the airbox has to be on in order for them to start so I put it back on and it was still only popping every now and then. It does have spark, and when I took the carbs off they had some fuel that dripped out so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. What could be causing this?

Default Original key

Does it have the original ignition? Or after market? I have the same issue seems mine is the aftermarket ignition.

I bought a 650 that would not run. Guy said it needed an engine. I did the usual. Compression test, which is weird on these. I set the valves. Rebuilt the carbs. I had spark but I thought it was weak.

Anyway, what I found was he had flooded the engine so bad the crank case was full of gasoline. The fumes coming back out of the crankcase was making the fuel too rich and flooding the cylinder. Not enough oxygen.

Oil change and it started up and purred like a kitten.
