Default Lakota smoking

Hello. I have a 97 Kawasaki Lakota smokes like a freight train. But holds 120 on compression test. Put new valve stem seals in lapped the valves in new head gasket Cylinder walls look good and I made sure the ring gaps are in the proper position. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Don't know the Lakota but it is a close relative of the Bayou and the sight glass is difficult to read on them, so, if it has a sight glass, are you sure you have the right oil level? When you had the cylinder off you should have put the top ring into the bore and checked the ring gap. OK, it has good compression, so rings should be OK, but that would have ensured you know they are OK. Only four ways oil can get into the cylinder, down valve stems, up past rings, through a faulty head gasket/cracked head, or blown into airbox via the breather.
