Prairie issue
#1
Hey guys, new user here and a new Kawasaki rider! I have a 2010 Prairie 360 that I just bought. It can be a pill to start. Starts on choke, but dies without throttle. Previous owner said he always had to mess with the idle screw. It also has the tendency to “surge” as shown in the video with a touch of a “miss”. Any suggestions?!

Set valve clearances, if they are tight, compression will be low, this makes them bad to start. Fit a new plug. If it still isn't right, check compression, if over 90 psi, assume the problem is carb. Give it a clean, blowing jets and passages out with compressed air. Do not alter or remove jet needles at this stage. Check choke is working properly, and that carb diaphragm is OK. Check the manifold for air leaks.
