Default 2012 Kawasaki Mule 4010 Drive Issues

Just bought a 2012 mule 4010 for hopefully a pretty good price but needs some work. It goes into hi, low, and reverse nice and smooth but in high will only go 12mph. In low gear will only go to about 8mph. It sounds like it's taching out and bouncing off the governor but it will not get up to speed. Any ideas or thoughts on what could be the problem are greatly appreciated

Seems like the belt pulleys are sticking. That model had a known fault that Kawasaki should have recalled them for, but didn't. Faulty machining resulted in the centre bush of (I think) the driven pulley, wearing fast and jamming, then letting go, resulting in sudden deceleration, rather like changing from top gear into first on a manual by mistake. Not the fault you describe, but I bet it is a variator fault.

It's possible the clutch needs to be rebuilt. The shop I used to work at did a lot of them. That was an issue we saw alot.
