Anyone mount winch on your 650?

I think the Warn 2000 and 2500 use the same mounting footprint, maybe the same winch. I believe the difference is that the 2000 uses a manual switch contactor and the 2500 uses the remote mounted contactor, which is just a high amperage relay allowing more current flow probably. The mounting plate is Kawasaki number KVF650-050 and is under $30. Mine arrived and didn't fit. I called Warn engineering and they pulled the CAD drawing. The mounting plates made on 5-12-01 had the bottom bend reversed 180 degrees. I don't know if all of them are wrong. I am waiting for Kawasaki to go through their inventory in Atlanta and pick out a good one. It looks like it will work, but the design puts more stress on the original Prairie bracket because the winch has to mount feet-first and with the cable spooling from the top. This levers the plate and bracket about three more inches than the original design. I will use it for now but am switching as soon as there is an aftermarket bumber and winch set-up that I like.

Bobbb How did you mount the winch in the rear that is where I would like to put mine because the front mount is too low. I have the winch I just need to mount it and on the 650 you need it. There aren't too many places to hook up to on it to be pulled out. I did get it stuck this past weekend but it was real easy to push out another place the light weight helps.
