I know someone who just bought the new Prairie 650. It is a Dog it has no power it only puts out 28 horspower on the dyno. sokmething is definetely wrong with it you have to yank on the handlbrs extremely hard to get it to weely and the front suspension is way to soft.

The Prairie 650 is a nice looking UTILITY quad. I'm sure it was never meant to do a wheely. You can't expect sport quad performance from a util quad.

But the new 2002 GRIZZZZZZLY... Now that is one awesome monster!!! Hope the other companies follows Yamaha and Kawasaki. The next few years should bring out some awesome quads.

[b]Right..................................I'm sure this is a common complaint about the new 650. I guess he's lucky the "dog" will even wheelie at all!!!

One things for sure if the Kaw650 only puts out 28 hp it's the most impressive under powered over weight atv I've ever rode. I've had mine for three weeks now and the only thing that even comes close in quickness and top speed ( other than the sport bikes) is my Polaris 400 Scrambler and the Kaw is quicker and faster than the Scrambler. I've had the Scrambler for two years and the only thing faster than it is the all out sport bikes. All I can say is if the Kawasaki 650 isn't the most impressive stock 4x4 you've ever ridden then take it back to the dealer for a look over because something is wrong with it.

Like Mudrunner12646 and bigwave said, the 650 is one powerful and fast ATV. kindsambo, you can expect very close to sport performance from this utility ATV. If eman345 had been at our local dealership he would have seen the worker there wheelie the 650 with virtually no effort at all. I did (see him do it). I also rode it. If his friend's machine was only putting out 28 hp., then it must have been firing on only one cylinder. You are right eman---there is something very wrong with it if what you are saying is true. If you ride one that is running properly, you definitely will know its no dog, and you won't have to rip the bars off to get it to wheelie. As far as the front springs go, yes, for aggressive riding they are soft. Kawasaki has optional stiffer springs for that kind of riding.
