My Mojave doesnt downshift worth a **** any more. It doesnt grind or anything but it takes a lot of work to get it to downshift now, you have to barely touch it to get it into gear and downshifting from 5th and 4th is damn near impossible (I end up coming to a complete stop before it finally downshifts, takes about 15 tries usually). Once its warm downshifting from 3rd and below isnt to bad. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

It is box stock and has never had any work done on it at all, its truly box stock to this day. I've never opened up anything on the engine (had the air intake box off one time). It doesnt have a whole lot of hours on it, been to Glamis about ten times. Any ideas are very welcome, please keep them coming.

you need to replace two pieces if your clutch seems ok. the star wheel and the shift fork for it. Ref. part # 13165 and 13145. The whole part # depends on the model. You will also need a clutch cover gasket. Put these two parts in and your Mo should shift perfect again.

Thanks you, the clutch works perfectly. It just doesnt downshift consistently, sometimes it will and most of the time it wont. If your in 4th or 5th you usually come to a complete stop before it will engage in a lower gear. Upshifts are no problem though, weird.

Ive seen several mojaves including mine do this and the parts i suggested have fixed them all. One note though, the parts you take out will look good and you will wonder if that is the problem because you can't see anything wrong with them. Replace them anyway and the problem should be fixed.
