96 miles now and still the whining is loud. Someone else had posted they had 250 miles and the whining stopped at 50 miles. Why does it whine so loud and why would it go away after time? How many miles do you guys have and has it become quieter yet?
Thanks.

I would take it to the dealer to find out if it's normal. Get the customer service # at Kawasaki from your dealer and call them and see what they say. If you pay that much money for a quad I would definetly make sure everything is working right.

Have you guys ruled out the noise could be the cam chain. Because there are 2 chains because of the v-twin cylinder.

The whine comes from the converters and the engine brake. The noise is normal and just takes some getting use to.

Some have mentioned that the Rubicon is real quite in this respect. I wonder why it doesn't have the same noise then. I was thinking maybe the gears were straight cut like reverse on some cars. Also, there is a guy with a 650 who reported that his noise went away completely after 50 miles. He seems to be the only one so far. I hope others chime in on this topic.

The rubi isn't belt drive; there hydrolic system is quieter than the torque converter on the prairie.
