The hitch can be ordered from your dealer for 30 bucks. They also have HD springs available. What do you mean by weak?

I think the heavy duty springs are just what you need. The hitchs are on back order, hopefully, they will get caught up soon.

I have not seen the new Kawasaki 650 Prairie yet. Maybe I am missing the point here, but why didn't Kawasaki put one on. When I saw my sons friends Kawasaki Bayou 220 I could have sworn it had a hole in the rear to accept a hitch. Chet

OldmanWheeler,
Heres the answer to the $10,000 question. I think I know why there on back order!!! They are sending all hitchs now being made to the factory to be put on at no added cost to the future owners. Chet

I was told that the original reason why Kawasaki left the hitch off was to keep the weight below 606 lbs. As far as I know, the Canadian machines come with hitches for free. There was one with the machine I test rode, but they hadn't installed it when I rode it. The dealer said they just hadn't gotten around to installing it, but he brought it out and showed it to me.

Wonder why 606 pounds is a magic figure. That must be one heavy duty hitch. Chet

Apparently it was a voluntary weight that the Japanese manufacturers agreed to long ago. The hitch didn't weigh much. I couldn't understand the "big deal" either.
