My bud is looking at a 1993 Bayou 400 4x4 on Sunday
Does anyone have one??
Do you think they are good quads??, he says it has a diff lock...is that true??, I dont think it is.
How fast are they??, How heavy??(lbs.)
I'd like to know more on this particular quad, please give me some info on it.
THANKS

Well, I don't own a bayou 400, but I do have info on a 95 bayou 400 which I think is the same.
391cc
32mm keihin cv carb
electric start with kick backup
single range 5 speed auto
full time 4x4 with limited slip front diff
shaft drive
595 dry weight
hydraulic disc breaks in front, mech drum in rear
1102 lb max towing
I think these bikes are pretty much utility and geared pretty low. Good torque and ergoes. Probably low top speed. Not sure on suspension. I have never ridden one though.

WOW he came over with it(his '93 400 4x4) lastnight...Its pretty fast...I held with it (with my 200SX)...But my other friends '99 Big Bear 350 2wd is wayy faster...higher gearing I guess.
I wonder if the Big Bear would do better in mud...dont you think??, because its lighter and I think it has more ground clearance...but un-sure of that.
