does anyone know what could be causeing my kawasaki bayou 220 not to start.
I checked it and it has spark it is also getting fuel and it isnt flooded.
I also just tried a new plug and it didnt help. could the timing have somehow moved or something. if i pull alot it will just backfire once and not start.
please help this bike has been a nightmare since the day i bought it.
Anyone intested in purchasing it im asking 800.00

I don't know if this could be a problem or not (never had that exact same problem) but if I leave the gas on after shutting the quad off and not using it for a few days it will not start at all. I have to turn the gas to off and drain the carb out, then turn the gas back on and it will start. somehow it floods or something. don't really know for sure, but I guess it's worth a try.

Check your keyway on your flywheel. I just had the same problem with my Quadzilla. It had good spark, gas, eveything but would not start. I looked at everything twice and all was fine. I finally decided to adjust my ignition timing just for the hell of it. When I pulled my flywheel off I noticed that the crank key was sheared even though the flywheel was still super tight. Check closely now because everything may look good(as in my case) but still be messed up. Obviously it happens a lot because the guys on the Suzuki forum were quick to spot it and they were all right on the money. By the way, I also have a hard-ridden 1995 220 and have NEVER had a problem with it. I hope you have no more trouble out of it.

Valve clearances generally dont get bigger from extended use,the clearance will get smaller, causing a loss of cylinder compression...This is a possibility for your problem.
Check that you have GOOD spark,As someone mentioned in a post above check for sheared flywheel woodruff key,Check cam timing...On the LH top side of the head thier is an access cover for the cam sprocket & chain, remove this cover, set engine to TDC,check that cam sprocket marking is lined up with mark at top of cylinder head,If it seems that the mark on the cam sprocket is pointed down(you are on overlap)....rotate crankshaft until the TDC comes around one more time....then check the cam sprocket alignment.
There is a small pin or tab that holds the cam sprocket indexed to the camshaft,I have seen them shear & break over time, but the bolt will still be tight.
ANYTHING MECHANICAL CAN & WILL BREAK AT SOME POINT IN TIME.
Good luck
Be careful
