What are these 2 stroke kawasaki rides that I see around on the net? Are these quads mojaves with a KX 250 in them? I just never seen them around my part.

 

They are called Tecate 4's and they were only made from 1987 to 88. They are very fast, but stock they didn't quite have the handling of the honda's. One thing I know from personal experience is that they are a blast to ride.

 

So you are telling me that all those quads are from the mid 80s, interesting. They really sould come up with a new 2stroke. I know that will never happen.

 

tecate 4's are awesome! faster than a banshee stock. i sure do miss the good ol 250 2 strokes. they were all so good lookin. they look better than a lot of the quads that are made today.

 

The Tecates really go faster than 70 stock? That's not bad, I might be interested if I can find one in good condition.

 

My friend says that although the Tecate 250 is rare, there is even a Tecate 500 that is more rare. Does anyone know if this is true?

 

its not true.

 

The '87 Suzuki Quadracer often tested as having the highest top speed between the 250R and Tecate 4, the other two didnt seem to really pull in 6th and the Zuki walked away. I know the LT doesnt outrun the Banshee and I know the Tecate 4 wouldnt either. The 3 fastest quads to date are the Raptor, Banshee, and DS650 (out of the box).

 

I thought something seemed wrong. How could there be so much mis-information on these fourms?

 

Ya the kaw is a little slower then the raptor. but look at the size of it motor. but talk about lightness and jumping abilty. thats where it realy shines. or if you likr to pull the front end up in the last gear.
