I was talking with lakota300cr about this last night. we had both drilled our air boxxes by drawing a line (with a pencil) were the blue plastic covers the air box lid, then drilling the holes were they would be covered by the blue plastic.
Note: we had both tried this before we new about the snorkle cap!
I believe any water that would get in thier could be drained at the air intake drain by the head. It's important to know take caution to the type of riding you do, water in the air box is no fun.
I do plan on taping up the drilled holes and removing the snorkle cap, for testing purposes. It only concerns me about aiflow, because of atv connections statement that they believe the rev limitations on the lakota was due to the restrictive air flow!
I looked at the durablue wheel spacers ($79.99 a set) and I'm undecided. The 13T sprocket stopped the short shifting and that stopped the tipsy feeling I had. I also road on some enduro trails and the lakota's slimness realy impresses me.
As far as split fires, I realy have not had much luck with them. But like everyone you know poeple who love them and poeple who hate them.
As far as a hotter cam:
The lakota comes with advanced cams.
Usualy hotter cams will inhance the top end (as well with porting) but is negative to the bottom end, but I'm not that far yet.
Mickey dunlap sells a couple of kits for the lakota. I like to try the high comp piston ($165) at a 11:1 ratio. maybe when the warranty runs out.
Dirthead,
Thiers a real good place in new orleans called the spill-way.
It's 10,000 acres and is maintained through joint effort of the louisiana trail blazers and the army corps of engineers.
It has a bad a## moto track a pretty nice enduro track, a go-cart track and tons of trails.
I haven't been to far from home yet as my son is 11 and getting real good at riding now, so maybe some new stough is coming.
They have a place about two hours north of baton rouge called forest hills that I'm trying to plan a trip to.
I have five days of school in my next trip home, but I would sure like to come out your way or maybe in missippi to go riding.
Sorry about the long post, drinking the dark roast coffee this morning!!!

gaff-I was looking into wheel spacers also, but for the price of them, I decided just to get new wheels with more offset-I ended up with new tires also-couldn't resist. I got Douglas .190 red labels. For the rear 10x9 with 3" in/6" out and front 10x6 with 2" in 4" out. This has made my Mojave much wider and easier to go fast in corners. My front is a little wider than my rear, but I will fix that with a new axle when I get the $. I slightly bent my stock axle. The price of my wheels was around $45-50. For each pair that's only $10-20 more-well worth it to me.

When I went to my acces. dealer about the wheel spacers, he started to confuse me about off-set rims and all kinds of other alternatives.
So since I had so much more work to do and The amont of fun the testing and posting (not to mention riding) I put this issue off for now.
I am curious about the dougles rims, and the wieght loss I will get over stalk rims.
When I road some enduro trails this week end I was very impressed with the way I could get around.
After this winter I was planning on trying out a couple of gncc races or something of that sort.
I still like the moto courses, but to be honest, I'm just not young any more and authritist isn't helping out either so I have to settle down some.
