27" 589 ON 650

jefffoxsr, I got all the rims off ebay for $50. I think the rims are all 12x7, but I know that the fronts have a different offset than the rears.

Rocky Mountain ATV is usually pretty good for prices on rims.
The steel rims and 589s are very heavy. I only use those for mudding. But for general riding, I use the stock tires and rims. The stockers have a softer ride and sportier feel. If I didn't get such a good deal on the steel rims, then I would have got 12" Douglas .190 aluminum rims.

I have ITP steel rims, which are 12x7, and are for the Prairie 400. I really don’t know if they are exactly the same as stock 400 wheels. If I were to do it over again, I would get aluminum instead of steel. The 27” tires on steel rims are a lot heavier than the stock tires/rims. At the very least, I would put the 589’s on the stock aluminum rims, and then remount the stock tires on aftermarket steel rims.
I don’t think you should have a problem with 28” 589’s, because there’s a guy on the HL forum that says he’s sunning 28” 589s. There are also people running 28” Outlaws without lifts.
