Does the 650 quit at 60 MPH?
#2
I do not believe it has a limiter in high (or low). Another guy had his going 71 (slight mod). You add pipes and an air filter (available recently) and this machine will laugh at 60.
My 650 did that once or twice, only when conditions are right. It sounded like a little cough. It does not do this when the filter much dust in it.
The cause for mine doing this is it is jetted a little lean. I am going to get richer jets for it.
I have not looked at my jets yet, but the manual says they are 138 front and 142 rear (rear=hotter, needs richer). I am going to get a 140, 145 and 147 so that I will have some to chose from. The dumb things are $7 each at the dealer. Oh well.

I had the same problems as jefffox with tires, the Dirt Devil's that were supposed to be 25's were more like 24's so my speed is a little slower than it actually is, mine will do 63 mph with stock jetting with or without a passenger, it will do 44 mph in low range. how bout your's jeff, by the way ,ordered my Big Gun system today, should arrive in 1-2 weeks.

66 on speedo, 65 on gps on a .4 mile straight. It was still climbing good. It has more in it. That big gun should really wake it up. Seat of the pants will be hard to tell since the 650 already kicks it hard. You'll have to line up another 650 or someone you normally line up and already know the margin of victory. Let us know when you get it. Is the exhaust you ordered a full exhaust or just silencer? How much and where? Thanks.

They said it uses the stock headpipe for the front cylinder (the longest one) and the rear short pipe uses their's connected to the silencer, ceramic coated with quiet core insert and spark arrester, all for $349.00 from Big Gun exhausts, Highlifter will be getting them the first week of Dec. mine from the factory should be here the last week of this month. They told me 2-3 h.p. more than stock with stock jetting, Dyno- results gave 5 h.p. more than stock useing the pipe combo with jetting the pilot jet's up two sizes and the main jet's up two sizes (142 main front carb, 145 main rear carb) air screws same as stock and needle's in the factory position gave the best result's. this was done in California I think so I may have to play with the jetting since I live in Tn. and ride at 1200-3000 ft. above sea level, I'll let everybody know how it does.

5 hp is a lot. Soon we'll be spanking Raptors. Anyone line up a Raptor yet. My friend just bought one. We'll line up soon.

ha ha ha ha ha,the raptor gains 10hp with a big gun,air box modds and jet kit, that means the 660 grizz should gain aprox the same amount, think you should stick to worrying about keepin ahead of them and leave the raptors alone

Aw come on, I hear about these rrrRcraptor guys getting 80 HP out of single thumper or so they say. I'd have to believe you'd need 30% nitro, 15% klotz, 55% methenol, 14to1, and play with the timing/plugs to do that with that yami single popper, if that ( maybe supercharge it too?)
But in all seriousness, it's gonna take more than a little mod to kawi's to catch a raptor. ( Even power to power matched the raptor will dust the prarie every time, less weight, easily optimized gearing. )
