I'm planning on a new quad within the next couple months.I really like the 650.I heard that there might be some problems with overheating and the frames cracking.Any info would be appreciated.

Where did you hear the frames might be cracking? First I heard of this one. As far as the overheating, mine overheated the first weekend I had it out in deep watery mud but hasn't done it since. When they installed my winch they removed the splash guard under the radiator and I think this played a factor. Which dealer were you looking at buying from?

I heard a rumor about the frames cracking too. From what I heard, they did not put a hitch on it because of the frames cracking. I don't know how true that is, but it could be possible. I heard it was on the test models, not on any production models.

Just to dispel the "hitch causing frame cracks" rumor before it gets started; Kawasaki did not put a hitch on the 650 as standard equipment because they, like all other Japanese ATV manufacturers, abide by a 606 lb. weight limit agreement for their ATVs. The hitch obviously puts the 650 over this weight limit, so it is sold as an option. Also, I have not heard any reports of cracking frames on the 650 from the people I know that own them, or the people I know within the industry (magazine and accessory guys).
