Just recently my prairie 650 started to make a not normal sound coming from the belt area or the I guess the belt brake sensor that sit on top of the belt cover. Well it makes a whistling TYPE noise till about 6mph then goes away till you drop the speed down below 10mph Then the noise comes back till I stop. So I took it to the dealer and was thinking it was the belt that was wore out so the dealer adjusted the belt and the noise is still there. The bike only has 340 miles on it and never made this noise before. Oh one more thing it will go the belt never does slip even before the dealer adjusted it so I don't think it could be the belt any one know or had this problem with there 650? the sound is driveing me crazy!

Trailhog, that sound you hear is just the engine brake. The KEBC or Kawasaki Engine Brake Control is actuated elctronically and you can see the motor for it on the top of the belt cover. The gearbox make a little whine, but I think the sound Zsilverado described is abnormal. I wish I could offer a suggestion, Zsilverado.
