Gonna buy a 650 tomorrow

Congratulations!
Here is a few suggestions. You probably know a lot of this stuff.
Try not to rod it until it has 10 hours on it. There is a screw on the throttle to restrict it. Change the engine, rear diff, and front diff after 10 hours. Driving it in low range in rough or steep aread maximizes belt life.
Get some kawasaki oil and filter for it, cuz you hafta change it real soon.
Get the foam filter cleaner and foam filter oil too. Also, get the mobil 424 or whatever kawasaki calls it that goes in the rear diff (get at least one quart). Get something for the front diff too.
I hope this don't sound whiney, but don't put anything in the rear diff but the mobil 424 fluid (kawi puts their own name on it). Don't put automotive oil in the engine. I have read in this forum that there is a motorcycle synthetic that can be used.
Sounds that may be normal for this machine are: a little gear slop is audible at lower speeds. It makes a slight click sound while going over logs and bumps. A strut spring may make a faint whine but it is quiet and you may not hear this until it is parked. The belt drive has an electric motorized brake control. You can hear it faintly while the engine brake actuates.
Other things I have noticed. You will fall in love with the 650. You will be impressed with kawasaki quality. You will lose faith in the stock tires and get something better. Imagine a racecar with 4 of those 50mph spare tire things on it. I don't like the stockers.
Have tons of fun with your new 650!

Checked out your web site and I have a few questions. Your rear rack does
not have a plastic cover over the racks. Did you take it off? Your rack is missing the rear reflectors that are mounted to the rack. Did it come without the reflectors? Last but not least, where did you get the rim and who makes them? I really like those rims. Thanks in advance

I took the rear rack cover off so the box would fit flat. I never got rear reflectors. I guess I have never seen any. Rims are made by ITP. They are $39 each, I think, and I got them at www.croffroad.com
