Any help?

I've got this 97 Mojave rolling chassis, with all the parts... and a 97 KX125, complete... and has highly modified engine... I was thinking about putting that engine into the Mojave, but i had a few questions... they are as follows:
1. Where would i be able to get a pipe to fit in there? Would i have to have somewhere like CT Racing custom make a pipe for me?
2. With the KX engine being quite a bit lighter, plus the systems for it are quite a bit lighter than the Mojave's stock engine and systems... would the KX be able to pull the mojave decently, with a few torque mods and some gearing down?
3. Do you guys personally think this would be a good conversion?
Thanks!

The KX125 engine would be a decent choice but you need to be aware of something. 125cc 2-stroke motors generally need to be revved to the moon to produce power. Since the engine isn't counter balanced, it would send a vibration through the frame that will weaken the welds or you.
As far as the pipe goes, I new a buddy that took a Tri-Z motor and put in a Banshee. When it came to the pipe, he ordered an LRD pipe for a Tri-Z 250 and did just enough cutting and welding to make it fit. It looked great and it ran good too. If you have the 125 pipe, use it as a test pipe.
I've never heard of a conversion like this before. Mickey Dunlap and I talked about the Mo-Cats he raced once.... Mojave motors in Tecate frames. Be a pioneer!!!
I hope that helped.

I wanted to try something similiar but I was going to drop a kx250 motor in mine but I want to find some help with the vibration. I know rubber between the motor mounts helps and an anti-vibe steering stem will too but I don't think thats enough. If someone could talk to will yokley he would know cuz kawasaki has his quad set up with a 250kx motor in the mojave chassis. Good luck anyway and let us know how it works out..

The engine would have more power than the Mojave engine but you will need to gear very low in the sprocket department just to keep it in the powerband. Lurch is right about how the 125s love to rev.
If it were me, I would sell off the 125 engine to a racer and hunt for a 250 instead.
