BigBuck, you may want to think about a Clymer's manual or Kawasaki shop manual. They really are well worth the money. They will save you a fortune and a lot of time. Just thowing .02 at ya, no help on the valves with that machine though .

<< check with cookie monster to see if it the same procedure as the 300 praire, if it is i have a manual and will send the directions back to you. >>
Rob, Cookie say's they are the same. Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated. I am trying to order a shop manual online but can't find a site that deals in Canada (Anyone know). I would go back to my dealer but I have lost faith in them.

this is gonna take awhile, i type with 1 finger. keep in mind this is for the 300 praire. remove fuel tank. after that take valve adjusting caps off. next remove the recoil starter, then remove the timing inspection plug [that is on the left side.] turn the crank counterclockwise with a wrench on the alternator rotor bolt, and watch the intake valve. when the intake valve opens and closes, keep turning the crankshaft counterclockwise until the "t" mark on alternator rotor aligns with the as shown.[the slot is located in the timing inspect. plug hole] measure the clearance of each valve between the end of the valve stem and the adjusting screw on th rocker arm with a thickness gauge. loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting screw until clearance is correct. hold the adjusting screw from turning and tighten the locknut to the specified tork. torque- valve locknuts 104 in lb be sure the adjusting cap o-ring are in place. the caps are marked "up" on the top end. i hope cookie is rite about this being same procedure as the 400. by the way do you hunt or fish, i went to ungava bay fish for char and also on a carabou hunt, had a great time, anyway good luck and i hope this helps you out. rob
