I have a 2001 prarie 400.. Looking to put bigger tires and rims on it. I was thinking about the ITP kit with the blackwater xt's. Was wondering how much power i would lose. Would it be noticable. Also what kind of mods could i do to get a little more out of my 400 cc motor? What would you recommend?

I noticed a slight power loss when I put 26" mudrunners on my prarie 400. It's really noticable when you take off. The off the line punch is kindof slower. I can still make it peel out from a stand still, but not near as much as I could with stock tires. I'm thinking about putting a "sport utility clutch kit" from EPI in it to get some of the off the line power back.

p.s. I also lost 9 mph off the top end. This might be a belt deflection issue, I'm not sure because I've never checked it.

hey Dave, do you have the web site for EPI, like to find out if they have one of those clutch kits for my 650 Prairie.

Here it is... The companies name is erlandson performance, hence the website "erlandsonperformance.com."

I've seen someone with a 650 part #, but the company supposedly is not making them yet.

p.s. do you think this clutch kit would help me out?
