Prarie 650 vs. Grizzly 660
#2
You ask which is better, better than what??Better than each other or better than others?? Well this is the way I look at it,anyone with a 650 or a 660 could have bought either one because the money is the same. So you can only look at it one way, they are two very nice quads, but they should be in two different classes. The 650 is in the sport ride first with 4x4 and can do work around the house last as good as any of them class. The 660 and Polaris 700 falls into the work around the house first and sport ride last class. The 650 is not a all out sport quad, but if you want to get close to the thrill of a sport quad with 4x4 the 650 wins. The 660 and 700 is more of a work around the house quad and exploring those deep woods kind of quad and if that is your kind of riding the 660 and 700 wins. I feel confident that any of these quads would do anything you want, but how they do the things above is what seperates them.

hey all'
i would have to disagree with trailhog on this one. the grizzly has a ball on the open trails, as well as the deep woods. as for working with it, then if you have work, it'll do it. i only plow snow with mine in the winter, but am always on the trails with it. i have raced a few praries, and they are great quads. the only downfall i see with them is when its wide open, they run good, but once you enter any rough trail, i leave them behind. if you live where there are smooth trails, then the prarie is it. but if you live where there is any mud, rough trails, or alot of stuff to get through or over, then it has to be the grizzly. the grizzly also has a great ride to it, and wont wear you out. if anyone tells me the grizzly is a work quad, then i ask them if a work quad can jump 6 ft in the air and cover 25 ft landings. does work quads usually go 68 mph? can you powerslide a work quad, or do wheelies? the grizzly is a riders quad, with the ability to haul a load if need be.

Mich660griz its ok to disagree. I wasn't taking anything away from the 660 at all its a great quad.Thats just the way I see it, I think the 650 is more sport is all and the 660 and 700 is more of a utility quad I think. I may be the only person here that thinks this way,but I really wasn't taking anything away from the 660 or 700, it was just what I thought. No harm intended.

trailhog, i was doing the same thing too buddy. i hope to never offend anyone on the board, even though my words sometimes do. i love both quads, and think either one would be a ball to ride. i do wish i lived in the south though, so i could run the mud and swamp areas i have seen on so many video's from georgia to mississippi. have a ball guys, and try to keep the tires upward, lol.

Mich660grizz,I'm glad we got that cleared up,because I don't want to offend anyone either.
AtomicAustin.I love my Prairie 650 and as you can see people love their grizz 660 also, but I been keeping my eye on that new Honda 650, to me that has got to be the best looking stock 4x4 ever made.

I have a 650 prairie. I think both quads are equally good. The 660 has a smoother ride, the 650 has a faster ride. the 660 lands smoother, the 650 lands farther. Both can pop a wheelie and go through the mud almost equally, the 660's IRS can dig deeper but the 650 has no rev limit while locking the front differential like the 660. The 660 must also stop before putting it in locking diff. mod. I got a 650 because of the better reputation kaw. has over yamaha. The 650 also has features like everlasting rear brakes, high intake and exhaust for the belt and high intake for the air box(right below the handle bars). I use my atv for playing in the mud and deep water, and very little work.
P.S. I think the honda rincon is very ugly and it has drum brakes. those are 2 things that turn me off. Who is going to make a exhaust system like the set up they have.Honda did have a good name in the atv industry back in the 80's and 90's but it's 2002, they cant keep up with the technology.
