Lakota or Mohave for woods riding???
#1
I need some advice on a woods 4 wheeler I have a Banshee that is really a handful in the woods or so I'm told.2 weekends ago I was riding in the woods it loaded up and quit and I couldnt get it restarted took it to the shop they cleaned carbs new plugs and told me it will load up if not revved out.I really want to keep this bike fer the power but I want something I can ride in the woods and enjoy and not have to spend a fortune on.I can shift a bike but I know alot of you guys and gals have both so maybe ya could give me the pros n cons of each bike and why ya love your quad.I really dont want to hear my quad is better then yours cause this isnt really the reason most of us ride. Some 1 said Honda is the quad to have there built better,I know alot of it is personal preference and I sort of have a green w envy kinda streak if ya know what I mean >.If a Blaster is better say so but to me for 1 grand more reverse is kinda cool to have.

hay, hows it going.
I own a lakota so of coarse I'll say lakota. But this is what I know and why I chose the lakota.
First lakota is semi auto, mojave has a clutch. It took me a while to get use to the semi auto, but I believe it's a edge.
The mojave is a big bore short stroke, wich puts it's power range further up the rpm range, and I would say the lakota has more bottom end.
The lakota needs pipe and jetted or you won't like it, get that straight rite off the bat, the mojave accellerates quicker, has a top end of about 54, lakota doesn't rev out top speed 51.
The lakotas suspention is a shy bit better, and has a one inch longer swing arm than the mo, but frame and plastic is exact same.
mo is 4 valve duel cam, and water cooled. lakota is 2 valve single cam, air cooled.
My reasons for why I would pick the lakota again over the mo, my pation is cross country and xc racing, the auto clutch and deeper bottom end play rite into my hands.
and as far as track times it has been said more than once that the lakota is faster, but barely.
both bikes list for 4099, They are on sale every were I have been for 3600, I was able to get mine 3600 out the door, I suggest you try also.
As far as racing and all that, it's all rider my friend and thats that.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
