As all of you know there has been numerous post on tires and how they affect top speeds, but what about how bigger tires affect the belts on auto quads? I have a KVF650 and the stock tires act like they are slick when I go thru mud,so I got to get some tires and wanted to get 26'' tires, but am concerned if it will wear the belt out faster and put more strain on the quad all together. Any replies would be more than welcome.

You bought it for fun, right? Get the tires. Sell the old ones on Ebay (but not right now, I'm gonna sell mine).

Sure it causes more stress, but I haven't heard of anyone wearing the belt out fast enough to be sorry they got bigger tires. I have no real data, just been reading posts a long time.

I have 28" mudzillas. The belt has never slipped. I do make sure I am in low range more than I used to, just to make it easier on the belt. I can go 40 or so in low anyway.

I am going to get some lighter, less aggressive 27" tires for the summer time. I like the ground clearance, so I will stick with bigger tires. I am going to get the tools needed to replace the belt as soon as I notice belt wear.
