I would like to get an idea of the maintenance involved with owning a 650.

I know a lot of the maintenance requirements will be dictated by the abuse I give the machine. So I'm just trying to get a rough idea.

You should be willing to change the fluids and occasionaly wash it.

I purchased mine last Wed. I put 11 hours on it and brought it in today for the service required. I figured that way I'll be better off when it comes to warranty work. They changed all the fluids (front & rear end fluid, wet brake fluid, oil and filter) and tightened up all the brake levers, throttle and belt. These are just the things I noticed, they may have done more. Got it all done for $125. I figured it would have taken me at least a day to do all that, plus I would have had to buy the fluids and filter. Now I'm good for awhile. To me, it was well worth it.

Roofer,

Did you still want to see those pictures of the warn winch rocker switch?

I have the digital pictures, but no web site to post them. You can give me your e-mail or mabey someone like Nyroc with a site would take them from e-mail and post them. Let me know what I can do for you.

Thanks for the concern and remembering me, but I already have it installed. The switch on mine is mounted on the handle bars and sits below the left hand grip. It works nicely.
Thanks again

BTW, I have a few pics on my site now. Will add my rocker switch pic tomorrow.

Ratman, a nice thing I have noticed is no grease zerks. My Polaris has 13. Feels good not to grease all the time now.
