Well I will be picking up my 650 Sat. morning and I cannot wait. I am getting it at a drive out cost of just under $6,400 so I figure that is a pretty good deal. I will be putting new tires on it pretty quick and I am trying to decide which are best. It will be used mostly in the mud and in fields but also some trail riding. I want to probably go with the 26" tires so that I don't loose too much power and it won't be so hard on the bike. I like mud machines but they don't offer tri-claw in the 26" (at least I have not seen them) I am considering the Vampire's or the Gator's. What do ya'll think? ALso, do you know of any sites that may have reviews on tires like these.

I have 26 inch mudrunners and love them it makes the 650 feel alot more stable and handles better with these 4 ply tires I lose about 5 mph on top end .I dont feel any lost on low end.
There is a good review on tires at i think its www.atvnews.com or check other topics here i posted it somewhere

Thanks. I talked to a guy last night at Hi Lifter and he recommended putting 27" Mud Machines on it, said that they would fit fine and are a pretty light tire so I would not loose much power. However, the machines are kind of pricey, so I am also considering the Gator's since they are better priced and look like a good tire. What do you think of the Gators?

Thanks

Dont know about gators but I got my tires from www.treadepot.com they seem to have pretty good prices.
Do a search in the forunm about 650 tires. There are alot of posts here about tires.
I have the 26 inch mudrunner never got stuck anywhere had 650 up to 18inches of mud ,water & Ice. As for clearence I havent had any problem with 26 inch tires I ride on some real rock trails with BIG rocks in PA

How do more aggressive tires such as the mudrunners make the 650 handle better? I'm not saying your wrong (i've never tried mudrunners), but I would think that a tire with such big lugs would have worse handling compared to stockers. I have 589s and the handling is decent but not nearly as good as the stockers on hard pack trails and fireroads.

99 Prairie 300 4x2 here. Dunlop tires are JUNK. The sidewall is to soft, allows far to much roll in tight corners. I now have Dirt Devils (6 ply)and it became a whole different quad. Kawasaki sez 5 psi front, 4 psi rear. I run the Dirt Devils at 3 psi and still have a far better ride and better handling. Plus no flats!

I cant agree more about the 2 ply Dunlop tires are junk .The mudrunner handle alot better then stock tires. Yes your arms get tried handling with the mudrunner but at least I can stay on the trails.Well worth spenting the extra $$ for these tires .I almost flipped my 650 with the stock tires after just 10 miles .Then would not ride quad until I replaced the stock .I ride with guys that have warriors and have no problem keeping up with thme on all kind on trail condition but yes I cant move my arms next day LOL
